Blog post for ages 28+

Ladies & Gents have been asking me to spill the deets on my beauty regiment. Being a dual licensed Cosmetologist & Esthetician I couldn’t be happier to receive this appropriate feedback.

So let’s start with the A word! ACNE! Those darn uninvited visitors that show up at all the worst times in our lives. I’ve been dealing with this for years. Everyone is different, and so you have to keep trying different regiments till you find a regime that works for you. With hitting the big 3 0 our bodies begin to break down cells much faster, and you have several other worries besides acne like Glycation, which is another topic we will chat about in the future. But let’s stay focused on keeping our skin free of inflammation and uninvited visitors that just never look cute. Here are a couple of my beauty tips, but keep in mind that I just turned 33, and us women & men 30+ have an entirely different regime then say a 23-year-old.

AGE:
Most men & women who develop acne in their 30s immediately treat their breakouts the same way they would when they were younger, but this is not correct. You have to focus in on proper intake of Vitamin C both orally and topically, and lots of antioxidants. LOTS OF ANTIOXIDANTS! Blood levels of antioxidant vitamins such as A, C, and E are lower in people suffering from acne as compared to individuals who have clear skin. So age plays a crucial role in how you should be treating acne.

STRESS:
Another key factor in acne is stress. We all know it, but we continue to add it into our lives. Stress is our enemy. With aging comes more duties, more travels, more responsibility, just more more more, but with all of this comes heavier weight on our bodies which lead to stress, and uninvited visitors that no beauty regime can improve. So remember that a stress-free life is number one in Beauty.

SLIP:
I could go on and on about beauty tips, but right now my current beauty bar category has been all about the slip from NORDSTROM.
I am a HUGE believer in changing out my pillowcase daily. I know it sounds crazy but the more you can change it out the better.

Say goodbye to aging, sleep creases, and bed head. This pillowcase in conjunction with my new regime with La Mer has cleared up breakouts, brighten my skin, and the best part for me is I have seen less oil build up on my hair which has left me with an extra day of great tousled curls where I typically washed my locks daily.

NOTE:
I mentioned changing out your pillowcase daily because with each night spent on your case leaves behind hair sebum and oils from products like conditioners, mousse, styling, gels. etc., also dust mites, and possible pet dander can play a huge factor in build up on the pillowcases. Now I know daily sounds crazy especially if you start using the slip cover, but just keep in mind this post focuses in on acne issues. If you don’t battle acne, you should change your case weekly.
Last I know this post was written for ages 28+ but as aging women & men we should be looking into these sooner than later. So you 20 year old beautés should be somewhat interested in this too!

Hope you enjoyed these few tips. If you would like to chat more about Beauty please leave a comment below.

Big Thanks to Meliá Hotels for making our stay in Paris extra special.

Super interesting. I never knew about how aging causes us to be low in antioxidants, which means we have to replenish them inside and out! Super good info, thanks! The silk eye mask is on my personal wish list now????
